Paris Fashion Week Spring 2021’s Best Looks

Paris Fashion week is often regarded as the fashion industry’s capital and hence the importance parish fashion week holds is significant. As a result, our penultimate destination on the Paris Fashion Week is home to some of the most prestigious luxury labels, like Christian Dior and Louis Vuitton, as well as up-and-coming designers. Check out our roundup of the finest of Paris Fashion Week in spring 2021.

Paris fashion week came to a close in Paris, where designers displayed their creations among historical buildings and manicured gardens. Designers and editors may draw inspiration from the city itself, especially this spring, as fashion returns to in-person displays after three seasons of virtual shows.

While there was a lot of talk about what lies behind the brilliant colours and quantity of skin, there was also a lot of talk about what lies beneath. Designers such as Nina Ricci and Stella McCartney are looking to the future—far beyond Spring/Summer 2022—by adding creative new vegan textiles and utilising clothing to express important statements about climate change and ocean preservation.
Valentino moved their runway to the streets for all to see, while Balenciaga used a red carpet and a large jumbo screen to put everyone on display, models and guests alike. (paris fashion week)

Mugler

Casey Cadwallader has mastered the art of arriving late in style. Mugler’s designer has displayed his creations way beyond the official Paris Fashion Week calendar for the previous few seasons. The models wore sultry bonded lycra bodysuits, bold-shouldered jackets with elegant cutouts, and form-hugging jersey skirts. Consider comic book women, who, as every Marvel fan knows, never fail to dazzle when they appear. (paris fashion week)

Off-White

Virgil Abloh celebrates inclusivity and fosters a feeling of camaraderie among creatives. Rather than using the regular calendar, Off-creator White’s and the designer revealed his spring 2021 collection through a video on the company’s website. In the COVID-19 era, the format has become conventional, but Abloh takes it a step further. Abloh launched Imaginary TV today, an interactive web platform that features 20 small documentaries. The series of movies, which feature everyone from a martial artist to a ballet dancer to a graffiti artist and a skateboarder, aims to “connect and generate a worldwide network, and bring together creativity while sparking a range of emotions,” according to Abloh. Abloh concentrated on style fundamentals, but with a twist, for his Adam and Eve collection. In his video presentation, Abloh stressed the significance of safety by having many models put bandanas over their lips.

Alexander McQueen is a British fashion designer who showcased his art at Paris Fashion Week.

“Back to London, coming home,” Sarah Burton summarised her spring 2021 offering in four terms. First, although the company has traditionally displayed in Paris, its founder and creative director are both London natives. Burton describes the collection as “shape, silhouette, and volume, the beauty of the bare bones of clothing reduced back to its essence—a universe imbued with emotion and human connection.

” Second, saint Laurent Creative Director Anthony Vaccarello started the season thinking of the desert, wishing for relaxation, coolness, and, of course, some fluffy marabout fringes. “I wanted to concentrate on the essentials,” he says, “and I believe it’s a sign of the times.” But nothing bleak or depressing appealed to me. To me, the desert represents a desire for peace, vast space, and a slower pace. The clothing is also softer, and the collection’s vibe is more sensitive and stripped down.” Kerry Pieri (Kerry Pieri)

Celine

Celine travelled to Monaco’s Louis II stadium to shoot a lookbook and video for spring 2021. Yet, the collection felt very much in line with Hedi Slimane’s classic American prep school look. It was all very The Official Preppy Handbook, from elegant navy or tweed blazers combined with track shorts and denim cut-offs to patterned maxi skirts with oversized track jackets and button-downs with boyfriend jeans.

On big bags, hats, and cropped t-shirts, logos abound. Slimane can create an entire sartorial tale on the runway. Then when you walk away, you realise he’s given you a spectacular interpretation of any piece you can think of, from sloppy jeans to a leather blazer and a pussy bow shirt.

Raf Simons

Raf Simons is a film buff. Most fashion designers are. However, his perspective on the film industry isn’t as lovely and innocent as the others; it’s dark, a little sinister, and rife with angst. Consider the following example: Teenage Dreams, his spring 2021 collection at the Paris fashion week, was inspired by various eras of films revolving around rebellious teens.

Samaha Lacoste

Lacoste’s sportswear heritage is rich and vast, with roots in tennis and having clothed the French national team at the Olympic Games for over 50 years. And for the spring 2021 season, design director Louise Trotter made the most of it. The athletic pastimes were represented and reinvented, from sophisticated tennis sweaters and skirts to nautical windbreakers with turtlenecks to sleek jogging trousers under anoraks.
She experimented with deadstock, exaggerated silhouettes and prints, and showed the ensembles in off-the-beaten-path sites across Paris.
